Improper Environment Increases Unit Pressure and Energy Consumption

           The site selection of cold storage and the configuration of the surrounding environment are crucial prerequisites determining unit operation efficiency and energy consumption. Neglecting environmental adaptability, such as poor ventilation, direct sunlight, or installing condensers in high-temperature environments, may seem to save site selection costs, but in fact, it will significantly increase unit operation pressure and energy consumption, with long-term operation losses far exceeding initial investment.

            Poor ventilation and direct sunlight will damage the cold storage operation environment. Poor ventilation leads to heat accumulation around the cold storage body, which cannot be dissipated in time, increasing the temperature difference load between inside and outside the warehouse; direct sunlight directly raises the surface temperature of the warehouse body, increasing the cooling pressure of the refrigeration system and forcing the unit to operate continuously at high load to maintain the set temperature.

            Improper installation environment of the condenser causes more direct hazards. Placing it in high-temperature areas such as unshaded rooftops will lead to a sharp drop in heat exchange efficiency—high-temperature environments hinder the condenser from dissipating heat to the outside, slow down the refrigeration cycle rate, force the unit to consume more energy to make up for the efficiency gap, and at the same time accelerate component wear and increase fault risks.

           Scientific site selection and environmental configuration must adhere to key points: prioritize areas with good ventilation and no direct sunlight; install condensers away from high-temperature environments, and add shading and heat dissipation devices when necessary to ensure heat exchange space. At the same time, take into account the surrounding environmental planning to avoid heat source accumulation and create suitable conditions for unit operation.

           For cold storage operation, "site selection lays the foundation", and environmental adaptability is no trivial matter. Doing a good job in site selection planning and environmental optimization in the early stage, although requiring more considerations, can effectively reduce unit pressure, cut energy consumption, and extend equipment service life. Only by adhering to the bottom line of site selection and environment can we lay a solid foundation for the efficient and stable operation of the cold storage.
